Golf sensation Cole Stevens

Local golf sensation Cole Stevens will be participating in the Nomads SA Boys U/17 Championship, Randpark Golf Club.

The tournament starts on Tuesday and Cole arrives at the competition in red hot form after claiming victory at the 2015 TGSE Junior Tour Event at the Bryanston Country Club last week.

The victory put him second on the Gauteng Order of Merit standings.

The 13-year-old, who was introduced to golf by his great grandfather Ephraim Moses as a youngster had a mammoth 2014, winning titles across the country.

The titles included the Curro National Schools tournament, the Ernie Els Golf Day and the Inter-Provincial Primary School Annual Tournament.

With Tiger Woods, Phil Mickleson and as his idols, Cole plans to study overseas to improve his golf and become the absolute best.

“At the moment I just want to enjoy playing golf. Five years from now, I plan to study in America on a golf scholarship so that I can gain experience to be one step closer to being a tour player,” he said.
