According to the Automobile Association (AA) another fuel price hike is expected in July.
This assessment is based on unaudited daily fuel price data released by the Central Energy Fund. An estimated increase of between 43c and 46c for petrol is predicted. Diesel and illuminating paraffin’s price will only increase with about six cents.
“The average rand/dollar exchange rate has weakened considerably since the end of May. The rand has lost about 40c against the dollar and this has contributed almost half of the increase which is forecast for the petrol price,” according to the AA.
