Malisya’s star continues to rise

The winner of the competition will represent South Africa at the international pageant in London in November.

Carrying the hopes of Roodepoort on her shoulders, Malisya Morris has become a finalist in the Miss Teen Commonwealth SA competition.Selected last month, Malisya is one of 25 finalists chosen from around the country.

“I am excited and I feel so blessed and honoured to be in the finals,” said Malisya.

The Hoërskool Florida pupil has been working hard with FeedSA, her charity organization of choice, however, with exams consuming her time, she had to step back from her charity obligations to study.

“Studies are more important to me because it will help me have a brighter future. It’s been exciting working with FeedSA and I can’t wait to resume my activities with them and helping the organization in anyway I can,” she said.

Malisya who dreams of being a fashion designer is one step closer to realizing her dream after she started working for a boutique as a sales assistant.

She is now preparing to host a fashion show next month to empower the youth. The show will have under 20 entrepreneurs featured.

The proceeds from the event will be donated to FeedSA.

“I have always dreamed of being in a fashion show so I’m excited. This would not have been possible without sponsors who have helped me a great deal in getting to the finals,” said Malisya.

Tickets for the Grand Finale of this pageant will take place at the Lyric Theatre at Gold Reef City on 12 September and tickets are available on Computicket.

All 53 Commonwealth member states are invited to send their representatives to compete for the prestigious titles.
