Only two weeks left for donations

There are only two weeks left.

There are only two weeks left to collect for Community Led Animal Welfare (Claw) and the team from Roodepoort Forensic Pathology Services seems to be well on their way to “win” the challenge.

The chief forensic officer, Jacques Koekemoer said they receive a lot of support from the community. “There are people who promised to bring dog and cat food and blankets, we are waiting for them to deliver the goods,” he said with a smile.

The editor of the Roodepoort Record, Roelien Vorster said they have also received some donations and are hoping for more donations to come in. “We have received a lot of blankets, but not as much dog and cat food. We appeal to the community to open their hearts and wallets and think of the animals and people who have to suffer during the cold nights.

“The donations are not limited to blankets and food, warm clothes are also welcome,” she said. Donations can be dropped off at Roodepoort Mortuary or at the Record’s office on the corner of Ham and General Pienaar Street, Witpoortjie. The closing date for donations is on 3 July. “The goods will be delivered to Claw in Durban Deep as soon as possible,” Roelien said.
