VIDEO: One killed, taxi on its roof
One person was killed and at least 14 injured when a taxi overturned at the intersection of Gordon and Hendrik Potgieter Roads last night (Monday 22 June).
The collision involved both a taxi and a bus, but all injured persons were from the taxi, according to ER 24 spokesperson Pieter Roussouw.
Two people sustained critical injuries, of which one was airlifted to hospital for further treatment. At least twelve other patients sustained moderate to serious injuries and were treated on scene before being transported to various hospitals.
ER 24 medics on scene treated at least six patients, Roussouw said, after which they were transported to various hospitals including Life Flora Clinic and Chris Hani Baragwanath Hospital.
The cause of the collision remains unknown, but Metro Police were on scene and will investigate the matter.
