Baby Moses urgently needs support

We would like to appeal to companies and individuals to provide us with the much needed financial support to assist us in the way we care for and support vulnerable children and families in the communities in which we work.

Baby Moses Baby Sanctuary currently cares for 95 abused, neglected, abandoned and orphaned children, of whom 72 are black, five are coloured and 18 are white. There are 45 babies that are male and 50 are female. These children are based in Gauteng on the West Rand and Bodibe and Modderspruit in the North West Province.• Home for 6 traumatised girls in Helderkruin, Roodepoort (Merle Street)

Baby Moses Baby Sanctuary is a Non Profit and Public Benefit Organization registered with the Department of Social Welfare and the South African Revenue Services (SARS). As a registered Section 18A public benefit organisation, companies and individuals are able to claim a deduction on taxable income in respect of donations.

We have a level 4 BBBEE scoring. Companies donating 1% or more of their profits to verified organisations can earn BBBEE points in the SED category. Our profile and funding proposal, relevant certificates and audited financial statements are available on request.

The challenges in running an organisation like this are no doubt not very different from any other household or business, apart from maybe having a lot of children, many with a range of medical and psychological problems. Like any other business or household we have a lack of space, funding and resources.

Any contribution, no matter how big or small, would be appreciated. Our critical need, at this stage, is financial support to cover our shortfalls on salaries, telephone, utilities and other sundry expenses, not adequately covered by current donors.

Should you be in a position to host a fund-raising event, such as a golf day, charity dinner, etc, we would gladly support it.
