Mysterious body found at Roodekrans adventure centre

Roodepoort police awaiting results of a post mortem.

A post mortem will form the basis of a police investigation after the body of a man was found at the Manie Mulder Adventure Centre yesterday 2 January, the Krugersdorp news reported.

The man, believed to be in his mid 40s, was found by a visitor who went to enjoy the tranquil waterfall setting at the Centre when he noticed some neatly placed clothing and a cap on the banks of the water stream.

This led to the witness, who did not want to be named, becoming suspicious and he investigated the matter further.

He claims that the body was literally standing in the water holding something in his hand at the time of his discovery.

The security on site, the Sector 8 Community Policing Forum (CPF) and the Roodepoort police was contacted.

On arrival the CPF assisted the policeā€™s Forensic Investigation team who collected the body at about 5.15 pm for further investigation.

Bystanders told the KrugersdorpĀ news that churches in the area would use the grounds to host spiritual practices as they believe that the water flowing there to be sacred.

A Roodepoort police official on scene could not verify the cause of the death, and will wait for a post mortem for clarification.
