NGO's and business come together to help needy.

More than a hundred community members who are financially struggling gathered in Frederick Street, Davidsonville to benefit from the Help in Need Development Trust’s soup kitchen.

The trust, with the help of Dorcas Aid and Lawsons Clothing, a retailer in Roodepoort, were able to to feed the residents, hand out sweets to the children, sanitary pads to the girls as well as supply them with a pair of brand new shoes and clothing. Lawsons Clothing supplied hundreds pairs shoes and outfits while Dorcas Aid helped with the food.
Pastor Micheal Jacobs opened the event with scripture and prayer where after the founder of the trust, Dennis Peters thanked all the contributors and welcomed the residents.
In her short address Annette Reed of Dorcas Aid said “it is not a hand out but a hand up. We do not see you as needy. We are merely helping you while you are struggling to help yourselves. You do not need to thank us.”
