The record hit the streets to ask the community if they celebrate Halloween and what it meant to them. This is what they said.
Thabang Modise: “No, I don’t celebrate Halloween. As a black person, Halloween never was celebrated in the hood. We celebrate Guy Fawkes, which is similar to Halloween.”
Arnoux Trotter: “No, I don’t celebrate the day. Growing up, I never was told about the day. To me it is not a big day like Heritage Day (National Braai Day).”
Johan Struwig: “Yes, I celebrate Halloween. As a matter of fact, we are throwing a big Halloween party tonight.”
Sunny Hart: “No, I don’t celebrate Halloween. The Americans and we are of totally different cultures.”
Friends Tshegofatso Sebokedi and Boitumelo Khokong: “Yes, we celebrate Halloween. Maybe it is just an excuse for us to attend scary parties.”
