Florida pupil is Jnr King of the Universe
A pupil at Hoërskool Florida won the prestigious title at the pageant held in Pretoria recently.
Handsome 14-year-old Roan Gonsalves has been crowned Mr Junior King of the Universe.
Gonsalves, a pupil at Hoërskool Florida won the prestigious title at the pageant held in Pretoria recently.
This is a most sought-after title, not only in South Africa but all over the world. With this title comes the opportunity for
Gonsalves to represent his country in the Teen Mr World competition at the Prince of the World venue in Turkey where he will meet and mingle with young men his own age from all over the world.
These young men not only will experience various cultures and traditions, but also need to perform a talent for the judges along with a private interview and ramp modelling.
“Winning the Mr Jnr King of the Universe title was a huge achievement for me and would like to request that the school award me with my school colours or school honours for not only representing myself at this event, but also my school, “ says Gonsalves.
As part of the judging criteria of Junior King and Queen of the Universe, Gonsalves appeared on the ramp before the judges in smart-casual as well as evening wear. He also had a private interview where he was given the opportunity to chat to the judges about himself as well as the charity projects he is involved in.
Gonsalves visited Floroma Old Age Home on Heritage Day handing out packets of biscuits along with a message to the elderly to make their day a little special.
“It was indeed a very special day for me and I believe to the elderly as well. It was very nice to spend some time with the uncles and aunts even if it was for a short while, “ says Gonsalves.
