Taxis lose control in Discovery accident
Eyewitnesses say drivers were attempting to push one another off the road.
One taxi rolled and another drove through a fence on Clarendon Road this afternoon (Monday 15 September).
At around 12.30 pm paramedics were called to an accident scene in which two taxis were involved in Clarendon Road, Discovery.
According to ER24 spokesperson Russell Meiring witnesses on scene told paramedics that the taxis were attempting to push one another off the road while travelling on Clarendon Road towards the taxi rank on 5th Avenue. Both drivers lost control of their taxis, one rolling and the other taxi colliding with Roodepark School’s fence.
“One person sustained minor injuries and was privately transported to hospital before ER 24 arrived on scene.
“Looking at the vehicles and considering that one taxi had rolled, I’m surprised that so little injuries were reported,” said Meiring.
