Road rage case postponed

Man says he acted in self-defence.

Meekahefele Mosooa, 43, the man who shot dead motorcyclist Douglas Pearce in a road-rage incident in February, appeared in the Roodepoort Magistrates’ Court yesterday (26 June).

The incident occurred on Malibongwe Road in Northriding.

In his bail application Mosooa alleged that he acted in self-defence. He was released on R5 000 bail.

Due to the need for further investigations the case has been postponed until 21 August.

Meekahefele Mosooa, a labour consultant, has been out on R5 000 bail pending further investigations.

The incident in which he shot dead motorcyclist Douglas Pierce took place on Malibongwe Road in Northriding. During the altercation both men carried firearms.

During his court appearance for his bail application Mosooa stated to the court that he acted in self-defence.
