Multiple taxi accidents claim lives of two, 32 injured

ER24 report 32 injuries, two deaths following two similar taxi accidents.

ER24 reported that more than 30 people suffered injuries and two people were killed following two serious taxi accidents – one of them in Roodepoort – on Monday 2 June.

“Thirty-two people have been injured and two killed in two separate taxi collisions this morning,” ER24 Communications Manager, Werner Vermaak says.

“Two people were killed when a taxi apparently lost control and crashed through a wall on Birch Road in Benoni AH. ER24 along with various services transported the patients to hospital.”

Meanwhile, in Roodepoort, fifteen people were injured in a similar collision on Main Reef Road.

“Paramedics from ER24 and City of Johannesburg assisted in stabilising the commuters of the two taxis that collided. They were transported to a nearby hospital. The local traffic services attended the incidents,” Vermaak explains.
