The Mario Gomes Hip Hop Dance Academy (MGHHDA) showed no mercy on the dance floor and bagged 54 medals at the Battle of the Giants Hip Hop Dance Championships at Sun City recently.
Out of the 87 competitors in total – approximately 24 from Roodepoort – the academy based in Noordheuwel also was ranked the number one dance academy at the event.
Extremely chuffed with the performance was owner Mario Gomes.
“The dancers worked extremely hard and it truly paid off. The spirit and passion from the dancers really proved that we are a tight dance family that won’t be broken.”
The next stop is Germany.
“The only goal now is for us to keep working just as hard towards the Hip Hop World Championships in Germany in September this year.
Mario has this message for his dancers. “I’m truly blessed to call you my dancers as you keep the MGHHDA flag flying high. I want to thank the family, friends and supporters of MGHHDA as none of this would be possible without you.
“To all my dancers: keep the passion alive and never give up on your dancing dreams. The sweat, blood and tears were all worth it.”
