Newlands collision causes serious injuries
One vehicle rear-ending another results in serious injuries.
An accident on Ontdekkers Road in Newlands on Sunday 6 October was the cause of serious injuries.
According to Netcare 911 spokesperson Santi Steinmann, a motor vehicles had collided with a light delivery vehicle on Sunday evening.
“Upon the paramedics’ arrival, they found that a motor vehicle had rear-ended a light delivery vehicle,” Steinmann told the Record.
“The collision had resulted in the driver of the light delivery vehicle sustaining serious injuries.
Steinman said that the motorist of the other vehicle did not sustain any injuries.
“The man was trapped in his vehicle and the Jaws of Life were used to extricate him from it.
“After he was treated on scene, paramedics transported him to nearby medical facilities.”
Steinmann said that the cause of the collision and events preceding it will remain the subject of a police investigation.
