A 37-year-old motorbike rider was killed this afternoon when his bike collided with a light motor vehicle on Voortrekker and Kloof roads, Krugersdorp.
Shortly after 13:00 paramedics from ER24 arrived on the scene and found the rider lying a few meters away from his motorbike. Upon assessment they found that the he was in a critical condition and required advanced life support intervention. While paramedics were busy on the scene trying to stabilise him, his condition deteriorated. They immediately attempted to resuscitate him.
Sadly despite the efforts of the paramedics he succumbed to his injuries on scene.
The driver of the vehicle was assessed on scene and found to have sustained only minor injuries. She was later transported to a nearby hospital for observation.
The exact cause of the collision is not yet known. The incident was handed over to the local Mogale City authorities.
