Val prepares for Boer and Brit Day

A guest speaker from the Military History Society will explain why this small town needs to be remembered.

The ninth Boer and Brit Day will take place in Val on 10 March with a full programme lying ahead for visitors.

The Night Ride MTB Cyclists will begin arriving at 4am, but coffee or aptly named ‘boeretroos’ will be ready.

Train passengers will depart from Standerton at 6.30am and the train and bus arrive in Val at 7.10am.

A bus will depart from the Military History Museum in Saxonwold, Johannesburg at 8am and MC Joe Payne will introduce Mr David Scholtz from the the Military History Society for his welcoming address at 9am.

Stalls will be ready for business and a street parade will take place at 9.15am, followed by the prize-giving of the best dressed Boer and Brit.
