Local art group on national television

Siyonqoba Performing Arts needs support to win SA Got Talent competition.

eMBALENHLE – Siyonqoba Performing Arts has gained the hearts of many fans after their moving performance at the SA Got Talent competition recently.

This local art group’s performance was televised on e.tv on 25 September.

The group managed to go through to four rounds before appearing on national and they are now rehearsing and preparing for the semi finals.

Mr Mandla Sibiya, founder of the group, said: “The competition was and is very tough and I will not lie about that, but I must say that we will hit them with everything that we have.

“Being the only ones representing Mpumalanga, it is such a great honor and a great privilege to us.

“We have learned a lot.”

Mr Sibiya said despite their financial challenges, the group is hard at work to raise funds.

He said they do street theatre, perform at open shows and wedding performances and wash cars.

“We really want thank to sponsors such as Esitjeni Trading for taking us to the SA Got Talent on our first trip, eMba Mall for always giving us a space to perform and market ourselves and Zola and Yakhani for always for encouraging us.

“We also thank eMbalenhle Sasol Club for giving us the rehearsal space and for also inviting us to their events, Mr Nkosi, Jonson, Morena Miles, Roots Butchery for the things they do for us when we do street theatre and the Echo and Ridge Times for always supporting us.

He urged anyone who would want to sponsor or invest in making their dream and vision possible, to contact him.

The group is currently busy with a musical theatre tour, namely Imbali – Enhle.

It began in Secunda and is now performed at eMbalenhle Sasol Club.

“We will soon go to Bethal, Leandra, Standerton, Witbank, Market Theatre and Grahamstown.

“We are concerned about illegal dumping, the cutting of trees, vandalised parks and the wasting of water that we portray through our plays.

“Our professionally staged production and the standard we have, lead to an invitation to Los Angeles, America, in 2017.

“We really need help in order to go there and accomplish our goals.”
