Cullinan detective applauded for excellence

“Cullinan Police management thanked the first responders and all members involved for professionalism in handling cases, and the management of crime scenes which yield positive outcomes,” said Const Moganedi.

The Cullinan Police have an excellent detective in their midst.

The management applauded Sgt Sibusiso Ngwenya for his excellent and intensive investigation on two murder cases.

That is according to a media statement released on August 24, by Const Conny Moganedi, corporate communication, Cullinan Police.

The police were summoned to a murder scene near Onverwacht sometime in December 2019, where they discovered the body of an elderly man inside a minibus taxi with gunshot wounds.

At the time, there were no eyewitnesses or anyone who knew anything about the circumstances surrounding the victim’s death,” Const Monagedi said.

Sgt Ngwenya conducted his investigation thoroughly and professionally.

He presented his well-investigated case and evidence before the court, which in turn led to an arrest.

A suspect, 20- year-old Donald Sunnyboy Masango, was arrested with the deceased’s firearm in his possession.

After the trial of the accused, he was convicted and sentenced to a life imprisonment.

In another successful case, Sgt Ngwenya secured a 10-year imprisonment sentence of Bheki Prince Khadwane (26).

Khadwane was an accused in a murder case that occurred in one of the local taverns in the Cullinan area.

According to Const Moganedi, the deceased in this case was stabbed to death.

“Cullinan Police management thanked the first responders and all members involved for professionalism in handling cases, and the management of crime scenes which yield positive outcomes,” said Const Moganedi.
