Local rider wants to be a professional motocross racer

“The more I ride, the more I love it and it just continues to grow every day.”

Shaigon Bister (16), a local motocross racer, lives for the track.

“When I feel the adrenaline pump through my veins and the mud under my wheels, it just makes me thankful for being so free.”

This teenager began riding at the age of six just for fun, and that was where his love for motorcycles took flight.

“I began racing when I turned 11 years old whichreally brought out my competitive side.”

He first competed in the Smoking Pistons Amateur Series and then the Inland Series. This year will be the fourth Inland Series in which he competes.

“My father, Craig, used to race and he actually got me into the sport, because he knew that I have a talent for it.

“The more I ride, the more I love it and it just continues to grow every day.”

Shaigon remembers he could not keep his eyes off the track as a little boy.

“I used to always watch racing overseas and said that one day that will be me racing. I am inspired by many professional motocross riders, but my
dad is my main inspiration He continues to invest in me as a person and a rider. The effort he has put into the sport and also his belief that I will one day be a champion, really inspires me.”

Shaigon’s support system gives him the drive to do well and to succeed at motocross.

His main goal isn’t necessarily only to become a professional motocross rider, but to make his dad proud in doing so.

“I want to be known as a humble and great rider.”

The highlight of his racing career was the chance to be coached by an exceptional coach, Tyron Juuls, who has completely changed his riding style and made him an overall better rider.

“It is a highlight to me, because he brought out the true rider that I am and has also given me a great boost of confidence.”
