75 eager participants line up for the parkrun in Standerton

Siyabonga Kamhelo completed the 5km in a time of 19:03, followed by Mthokozisi Tshwala in 21;21, a new personal best.

Seventy-five people took part in the parkrun on January 14 and some went all out to dress in the ‘Back to School’-theme.

Chuhla Phago registered a time of 21:36, while Mbuso Mazibuko ran towards the finish line in 24:15.

Johan Ferreira clocked in at 24:28, followed by Theuns Nortjé, who recorded a time of 25:42.

Theo Schönfeldt managed a time of 27:10, while Tshiamo Lephoto reached the finish line in 28:37.

Frans Vermaak, Séan Jansen van Rensburg and Theo Schönfeldt are all smiles at the parkrun on January 14.

Petra Fischer completed the distance in 28:48.

Altogether five athletes improved their times and eight participants joined for the first time.

Volunteers Antionette Herbst, Frans Vermaak, Jennifer Naidoo, Johannes Vosloo, Lizette Jansen van Rensburg, Jean Robertson, Preyanka Dorasamy,

Renette de Sousa, Ruwan Vermaak, Séan Jansen van Rensburg, Wessel Herbst and Willy Smith took secured a smooth and safe event.

Standerton River Park hosts this free event every Saturday at 08:00.
