Scorching morning sun did not deter 344 parkrunners who took part in Secunda Parkrun #337 on Saturday, January 14.
The parkrun takes off at 08:00 every Saturday and sees parkrunners walk, jog or run the 5km course.
A whooping 29 first-timers were welcomed to parkrun Secunda South Africa family. They are Louan Hattingh, Hannes Laufs, Riaanza Heyneke, Hendrik Byleveld, Yolandi Strecker, Nondumiso Shandu, Ina-Marie Mey, Mokgadi Ragedi, Abdul Malik Lottering, Dante Neetling, Peter Young, André De Lange, Nelisiwe Mahlalela, Maryke Watkins, Karlien Bierman, Hennie Neetling, Chane Neethling, Janlene Neethling, Christa Venter, Pamela Ferreira, Ettienne Du Toit, Nicolene Du Toit, Daniel Stephanus Scholtz, Maria Magdalena Scholtz, Adri Young, Richard Young, Leandra Gronler, Aron Kensley and Rochelle Isaacs.
The eldest parkrunner was Leopold Middelberg at the age of 82 years old. He did his 76th parkrun.
Johanna Van Tonder was the eldest woman parkrunner, at the age of 77 and completed her 156th parkrun.
Colin Louw was the parkrunner with the most parkruns #272.
Altogether 24 parkrunners ran their best times at Secunda parkrun. They are Wege Viljoen (18:15), Zander Blom (24:30), Maritza Graham (29:31), TJ Erasmus (31:09), Siwan Le Roux (32:00), David Maans (32:21), Bhavik Bhaga (34:33), Nkile Motshegwa (36:28), Lee-Ann Francke (38:29), Nathan King (38:32), Dawid Beyers (41:21), Sabata Esther Modise (43:40), Inus Labuschagne (44:02), Cindy Murray (46:11), Heidi Bouwer (47:08), Imma Mdhluli (50:42), Armand van der Westhuizen (51:16), Monica Smith (51:27), Danyll Maans (51:57), Andisile Sikhundla (53:17), Mia van der Merwe (58:35), Engela Strydom (1:00:02), Keraleigh Alexsandra Hodson (1:00:28) and Austin Ackerman (1:00:30).
Lou-Ann Smit, Maritza Graham and Busisiwe Magqabi were the first three women to finish.
Wege Viljoen, Alfred Moloi and Colin Louw were the first three men to finish.
