Karatekas from Kinross and Secunda excel at national championship

Two sensei brothers are proud of their students.

Karatekas of the Universal Shotokan Karate Union (USKU) clubs in Secunda and Kinross, were chosen for the Mpumalanga karate team and recently took part in the national Karate Championship in Port Elizabeth.

These karatekas are Njabulo Mahlangu and Philasande Shabangu with their sensei Aquilar Dhlamini from Kinross and Mitchelle Malaza and Lutendo Netshivhazwaulu with their sensei, Breshnev Dhlamini from Secunda.

Mahlangu and Shabangu both obtained silver medals in their Kumite.
Malaza and Netshivhazwaulu also excelled.

Netshivhazwaulu won a gold medal in Kumite while Malaza got a bronze medal.

These fighters now stand a chance to be chosen for the South African Karate team that will go to the international championship in Mauritius in October.

Their senseis, who are brothers, said they are proud of their students especially since they only opened these two karate clubs earlier this year.
