Highveld Sailing Club in Trichardt hosts summer regatta

Wayne Thornhill won the Highveld Sailing Club’s summer regatta that was held at the club at Trichardsfontein Dam on Saturday and Sunday November 27 and 28.

Craig van Deventer finished second and Peter van den Meer third.

The rain and wind of up to 30km/h at times on Saturday did not keep the sailors away.

The sailors completed four races on Saturday and four races on Sunday.

The club also saw a few new members who also took part in the summer regatta.

One of the organisers of the race said the competition was tough and the leading position changed with each race.
