Secunda hosts Mpumalanga Athletics Championships

Athletes also had to compete in horrible windy conditions, but despite the set backs of the wind and Covid regulations, athletes excelled extremely well.

HIGHVELD – This past Saturday, 27 March, athletes competed in the Mpumalanga Athletics Championship which was held at the Secunda Stadium.

It was a completely different atmosphere in comparison to previous years due to strict Covid-19 regulations.

Grand stand seats were empty due to no spectators being allowed and organisers were hard at work to ensure that only athletes could enter the premises.

Athlete also had to compete in horrible windy conditions, but despite the set backs of the wind and Covid regulations, athletes excelled.

The sub-youth (U/15), youth (U/17), junior (U/19) athletes who qualify for the SA Championship will make their way to Paarl from 8 to 11 April.

Pretoria will be the hosts of the Seniors ASA from 15 – 17 April.
