Steve sails best at sailing championship in Trichardt

TRICHARDT – The Highveld Sailing Club hosted the Halcat National Championship at Trichardtsfontein Dam last weekend and Steve Hegerstorm won the race with a total of 14 points.

Roger Hill finished second with 16 points, Bill Ellens third with 21 points, Gavin Tintinger fourth with 43 points and Craig van Deventer fifth with 48 points.

Local sailor, Peter van der Meer finished sixth with 48 points and Eugene Thornhill finished seventh with 49 points while Coert Grobbelaar finished eighth with 60 points and Wayne Thornhill ninth with 68 points and Sean Boyley 10th with 76 points.

The championship took place over Saturday and Sunday, 20 and 21 March.
