SECUNDA – Boxers took to the ring on Saturday, 20 March and fought things out in the TLB Boxing Promotions’ Human Rights Day and international Women’s Month tournament held at Graceland Hotel, Casino and Country Club.
In the first bout of four rounds, Arnel Lubisi of Mpumalanga beat Tamiwe Chisolola of Malawi in the catchweight category.
In the second match, also consisting of four rounds, Skhumbuzo Xima of KwaZulu-Natal won his match against Ayabonga Cekiso of Gauteng in the junior featherweight category.
Talent Baloyi of Gauteng won with a knock out against Sando Jackson of Malawi in the lightweight category that consisted of four rounds.
Xolani Mgidi of Mpumalanga won with a knock out as well in his match against Siya Mabena of Gauteng in the junior welterweight category that consisted of eight rounds.
Two women, Simangele Hadebe and Melissa Miller, both from Gauteng, tackled each other in the ring and Hadebe won with a knockout.
Their match consisted of eight rounds as well and they took part in the junior welterweight category.
In the international junior welterweight consisting of 10 rounds, Xolisani Ndongeni of South Africa beat Byson Gwayani of Malawi with a total knock out.
The event was organised by TLB Boxing Promotions in collaboration with the Mpumalanga Department of Culture, Sport and Recreation.
