“I love being able show people that women can not only participate but also do well in a sport that is predominantly competed in by men.”

Ms Storm is the eldest of four siblings and in school, she participated in hockey, but in general loved all sports.

She said: “If you have a dream in life and it does not come true for you, persevere or follow a dream that’s more obtainable.”

Ms Storm is grateful to her husband, son and God for waking them up every morning and being with them at all times.”

She described the feeling when she races as being “epic”, she said the adrenaline rushes through her veins however, at the same time she has to keep steady and stay focused on the race.

She stated that it is such a fun sport with racers who are all so welcoming.

“It is one big happy family that are always at the track.”

She urged more women to also get involved in the sport – as playing with cars is not just a man thing.
