SECUNDA – The Action Sports Secunda Centre can finally open its doors after nearly five months of lock down.

The Covid Cricket League at this centre will kick off on Wednesday, 2 September and they need at least 35 teams.

Action cricket enthusiasts can enter teams in men’s leagues, women’s leagues, mixed leagues or primary school and high school.

The primary- and high school games will be played on Fridays and Saturdays and people would also be able to play social cricket and hockey games again.

Strict rules and regulations will be followed when people return to the arena.

All people must wear masks while moving on the premises except while stationary in designated areas such as the bar or on the playing field.

Masks will be for sale at the kiosk.

Upon arrival all players must enter at the front door to begin with their screening process.

It is the responsibility of each captain or nominated person to select players on the touch screen and sign an indemnity form regarding Covid-19.

No spectators will be allowed at the arena and designated seats will be indicated by stickers for players in the playing area.

Social distancing applies in the bar and patio areas.

The duration of all cricket games will be two hours and the hockey games will be 35 minutes with 10 minutes change over for new games.

The ball will be sanatised before, after and during half-time by the umpire.

The centre is not allowed to begin with action netball yet as they are still waiting for Netball South Africa to give them instructions.
