Bezuidenhout and Engelbrecht need sponsorship to compete in the U/19 Sevens Rugby in Dubai

Both will be attending the HSBC World Rugby Sevens later this year.

HIGHVELD – Bowen Bezuidenhout and Gerhard Engelbrecht will be competing in Dubai in the U/19 Sevens Rugby team later this year.

Both will be attending the HSBC World Rugby Sevens, which is the highest level in their age group in which the boys will be competing.

Bowen who is a learner at Hoƫrskool Secunda sustained a bad injury to his leg a few years ago.

Doctors told him that he would never again be able to play sport.

Today, he is classed as one of the best in the New Beginning Sports Development team and has shown a lot of potential.

He will be competing in the U/19 first team in Dubai.

This youngster is in need of sponsorship of R35 000 to attend the World Champs.

This amount includes all of his touring costs.

Gerhard Engelbrecht, a former learner at Hoƫrskool Oosterland and previously from New Beginning Sports Development, has now been contracted to the South African All Stars Sevens Academy.

A substantial amount has already been raised for his programme, but he is still needing sponsorship of R35 000.

This will ensure him a year of training, coaching and touring. His contract will also include both national and international touring.

Gerhard is scheduled to compete in Kenya and Namibia, LA, Spain and HSBC World Rugby Sevens in Dubai later this year.
