All smiles for Puma squad who finish among top 10 at Rhino Cup

After a very difficult 2019 due to boycotting, Pandas made 2019/2020 National Championships the best ever by far for the Puma squad.

SECUNDA – After a very difficult 2019 due to boycotting, Pandas made 2019/2020 national championship the best ever by far for the Puma squad.

NBF and SANDF were thanked for their hard work and a job well done.

Podium finishes and Player of the Tournament was awarded as follow:

Grand Masters – Pumas finished third in the team event and won gold in the speedball. Collin Cato finished in the Top 12.

In the socials category, Jackson Mashetsi won back the SA title. Jan Ferreira, Jackson Mashetsi and Kagiso Komape all finished in the top 12.

For the first time a women’s team competed with only one player who previously competed in the nationals.

Nicola Rossouw bagged her eighth South African NBF title.

The team was coached under the watchful eye of Nicola Rossouw who won the national champs and finished first. She also finished in the Top 12. This was her eighth South African NBF title.

The U/23 just missed out on a podium ending in fourth place. This was the best performance from the Puma U/23 team in 15 years of the National NBF Championships.

Aden Joseph and Peter Nwaila finished in the Top 12. Joseph also won his eighth South African title.

A spirited performance was observed from the Masters as this fairly new team tackled the best in South Africa.

The Pumas men’s first and second teams finished in the Top 10. Pumas 1 finished second with only one loss in the tournament.

Aden Joseph, Vishen and Kyle Akaloo finished in the Top 12. Pumas 1 recorded 45 breaks and finishes.

Joseph took his ninth title.

It took 34 month for Pandas to turn Panda’s Cue Sport into one of the best clubs in Africa, bagging the Chinese 8 Ball men’s nationals, as well as the 8/9/10 Ball national titles.

They also won titles at NBF Championships and hosted the first Rhino Cup, all of this while competing against the best in South Africa.

Aden Joseph won his eighth South African title.
