Jarryd Elliott wins open division of 2020 Mpumalanga Closed Golf Championship at Graceland
This was a compulsory tournament for anybody who wanted to be eligible for selection of any Mpumalanga team.
SECUNDA – Jarryd Elliott and Brian Naidoo respectively won the open and senior division of the 2020 Mpumalanga Closed Golf Championship held at Graceland Country Club and Casino over the weekend.
A total of 84 golfers played in the championships with age groups ranging from 16 to 65 years.
It was a medal competition.
This was a compulsory tournament for anybody who wanted to be eligible for selection of any Mpumalanga team.
The first tee off was at 6.45am.
The was not on the players side.
There was light rain in the morning and the wind speed picked up between 30-35 kilometers, this affected some of the players’ game.
The rough was up, some players had to reload balls off the tee box and had to play out of the rough and not directly for the green.
The winner of the open division was Jarryd Elliott from Bankenveld Golf Estate with a score of 144.
The senior division was won by Brian Naidoo on a play-off with Eddie Daniel, both from Ermelo Golf Club, after they both scored 151.
