Sasol cricket teams claim victory over weekend

Women's team does well in T20 match

SECUNDA – Sasol 2 cricket team beat eMbalenhle at the Sasol Cricket Club on Sunday, 16 February.

According to Mr Ignus Koekemoer of Sasol Cricket Club, Sasol 2 won the toss and decided to bat first.

Sasol managed to make 189 runs all out.

Nicus Boshoff was the top scorer for Sasol 2 with 55 runs.

Sasol bowled eMbalenhle out for 63 runs and won the match with 126 runs.

Kobus West, batsman of Sasol 2 are caught out by fielder of eMbalenhle, Johan Molefe and Eliot Dube of eMbalenhle is the wicket keeper.

JP Austin and Kobus West took four wickets each.

Sasol 1 beat the Bethal Bears at Hoërskool Hoogenhout on Sunday, 16 February.

Sasol 1 managed to make 315 runs.

The team captain, Colin van Staden, made 112 runs, Johan van Antwerpen made 53 runs and George Louw made 57 runs.

Sasol 1 bowled the Bears out for 90 runs and won the game with 225 runs.

Ignus Koekemoer of Sasol 1 took three wickets and Ruhan Delport and Van Antwerpen took two wickets each.

Sasol’s women’s team also played on their home field on Sunday and tackled Bethal Bears’ women’s team in a T20 match.

The Bears won the toss and decided to bat first.

Sasol restricted the Bears to 92 runs and Sasol managed to make this score in the 9th over.

Bianca Brummer of Sasol took three wickets.

Terry-Lee Kleynhans of Sasol made 46 runs, not out and Marie-Louise Forbeck made 22 runs also not out.
