Smit Malboer Steyn beat an MFC amateur middleweight champion in a hard-fought battle at the AMMA 5 competition in Florida, Johannesburg, on Saturday, 26 October.
His opponent was Nkosi Doyisa from Durban who has an impressive 8-1 record.
Doyisa’s title belt was not on the line, because it was a different promotion, yet Malboer proved that this champion can be beaten.
Steyn won the fight by decision.
Coach Cedric Doyle said Steyn is doing great.
