Van Schaik hits the mark at the North West SACRA championship

Van Schaik received the accolade for the overall second place as overall veteran (all classes), as well as the silver medal for overall best shooter in the X-Class. His team, named Gat Sonder End won the overall mixed team event.

SECUNDA – W/O Louwrens van Schaik, the local police weapon’s expert, again excelled at a combat rifle championship.

He obtained several medals at the North West Combat Rife Championship held at The Dirkie Uys shooting range in Potchefstroom from 19 to 21 September.

Shooters from the police, the SANDF, the Correctional Services, PCRA (private) members from Northern Cape, Free State, North West, Gauteng South, Gauteng North, Natal and Mpumalanga took part in the championship.

Van Schaik was overall the second best shot on one of the days of the championship.

He was one of 55 marksmen who competed in the X-Class (scope) of the championship. A total of 101 shooters attended the championship.

He also obtained a bronze medal in the 100m Macarena (standing, then kneeling or squatting) match and a silver medal in the 300m sustained fire (prone) match.
