W/O Martin Pretorius from Morgenzon looks forward to SA Combat Rifle champs

W/O Pretorius also took part in Gauteng North Provincial Combat Rifle (SACRA) Championship held at the same venue on 12 July where 110 shooters from the police, SANDF, SAAF, SACS and PCRA (civilians) competed

W/O Martin Pretorius proved himself to be crack shot at national combat rifle championships last month.

He took part in the A class of the police’s Head Office and the Gauteng Police Combat Rifle championships held at Generaal Piet Joubert Shooting Range at Barberton from 11 to 13 July.

Riflemen in the A class use open sights and not scopes on the rifle.

W/O Pretorius won a gold medal for the 200m rapid (prone position) shooting competition. He came second in the 200m sustained fire (prone) and the 300m snap (prone).

He also obtained bronze medals in the 200m snap (sitting position), the 300m snap (prone) and the 300m mixed grill (prone) events.

W/O Pretorius also took part in Gauteng North Provincial Combat Rifle (SACRA) Championship held at the same venue on 12 July where 110 shooters from the police, SANDF, SAAF, SACS and PCRA (civilians) competed.

He took a silver medal in the A-class for the 200m rapid (prone) event and ended third in the 300m mixed grill (prone).

W/O Pretorius will be taking part in the South African Combat Rifle Championship in Bloemfontein this weekend.
