Dancers excel in Schools DanceSport tournament
Schools DanceSport SA Mpumalanga District Tournament was recently held at Sasol club. Higveldpark High school, Evander High school, Laerskool Secunda and Laerskool Goedehoop were some of the local school that competed. More than 30 dancers had to sweat for a place on the dance floor because only the best got chosen to go through to the next round.
SECUNDA – The Schools DanceSport SA Mpumalanga District tournament was recently held at Sasol Club.
Learners of all ages and schools across Mpumalanga competed for the first prize in their age group.
Mnr. Christiaan Els from CF Els Dance School organised the event.
He said that they want dance to grow as a sport and make it possible for learners to compete as they do in any other sport.
Higveld Park High School, Evander High School, Laerskool Secunda and Laerskool Goedehoop were some of the local schools that competed.

Ayanda Mngomezulu took the second place for BU/18 in the street category with Anesu Chikerema in second place.
They are both from Highveld Park High School. Tshiamo Nosi from Evander High School was third.
The U/18 girls from Highveld Park High School showed who was best with Malindi Mthethwa in first and Siphesihle Mntambo in second place.
Jearita Fouché from Laerskool Secunda won first prize in the category GU/13 Energy and Priscilla Pretorius from Laerskool Goedehoop came third in the same category.
Laerskool Goedehoop’s boys took all the prizes for boys U/13 Energy.
Divan van Merwe won first prize, Conrad Powell came second and Tiaan van Wyk took the third place.
