Standerton dancers make their mark

Dancers had an opportunity to showcase their skills in the Disco, Freestyle, Slow Dance, Bhangra, Hip-hop, Contemporary, Jazz, Solo Latin, Ballroom and Salsa genres.

Anica Oosthuizen, Chanelle Britz and Zoë Lecordier from Standerton recently competed in the annual SADF (South African Dance Federation) Freedom Day Championships in Springs at the Civic Centre in Gauteng.

Aldanté Dance Studio is affiliated to the SADF and falls under the Gauteng branch as Standerton is the only studio in Mpumalanga currently associated with SADF.

Dancers had an opportunity to showcase their skills in the Disco, Freestyle, Slow Dance, Bhangra, Hip-hop, Contemporary, Jazz, Solo Latin, Ballroom and Salsa genres.

The results are: 

Anica Oosthuizen – fifth: Disco Dance, second: Bhangra and first: Slow Dance.
Chanell Britz – sixth: New Comer Slow Dance, fifth: Contemporary, fourth: Jazz, fourth: Salsa and first: Solo Latin.
Zoë Lecordier – fourth: Freestyle, fourth: Slow Dance, third: Jazz, second: Salsa and first: Solo Latin.

Classes take place at the Standerton Primary School Hall on Mondays from 3.30pm.
