SECUNDA – Action netball teams of different regions competed at the Lake Umuzi Action Centre during a inter provincial tournament from 26 April to 1 May and Eastern Gauteng won the U/23 women’s category.
They beat Western Gauteng in the finals of the 6-A-Side games 43-39 and Northern Gauteng beat Western Province 50-43.
The best player among the U/23 players is Ingrid Tredoux from Eastern Gauteng.
In the U/23 mixed teams category, Western Province walked away as the winners after they beat Western Gauteng 47-29 and Midlands Kwa-Zulu Natal beat Eastern Gauteng 45-34.
The best U/23 player among the mixed teams is Elzet Potgieter of Western Province.
In the category for women older than 30, Central Gauteng were the winners. They beat Western Province 58-57 and Eastern Gauteng beat Northern Gauteng 43-25.
The best player in this category is Tsukane Mbewe of Central Gauteng.
Central Gauteng won the category for women of 35 and older when they beat Western Province 43-40.
Northern Gauteng beat Southern Gauteng 60-32 and the best player in this category is Angel Msomi of Central Gauteng.
In the mixed category of players older than 30, Northern Gauteng walked away as the winners after they beat Western Gauteng 66-52.
Eastern Gauteng beat INV 36-30 and the best player in this category is Buddy Ntsoelengoe of Western Gauteng.
In the 7-A-Side games, Eastern Gauteng walked away as the winners among the U/23 women’s teams when they beat Northern Gauteng 44-42.
Western Gauteng beat Western Province 61-37 and the best player in this category is Ingrid Tredoux.
In the U/23 mixed teams category, Western Province beat Western Gauteng 46-26 and Southern Gauteng beat Kwa-Zulu Natal Midlands 48-44 and the best player is Melusi Molefe of Western Gauteng.
Among the women of 30 and older, the Western Province won the category when they beat Central Gauteng 60-52 and Eastern Gauteng finished second when they beat Northern Gauteng 50-40.
The best player is Sonya Smit.
In the category of women of 35 and older, Central Gauteng walked away as the winners after beating Western Province 42-39 and Northern Gauteng finished second after beating Southern Gauteng 44-32.
Gayle van Rooyen of Western Gauteng is the best player in this category.
In the mixed teams of players of 30 and older, Northern Gauteng took the first place when they beat Northern Gauteng INV 82-35 and Western Gauteng finished second after beating Eastern Gauteng 58-43.
The best player of this category is Johan Botha of Northern Gauteng.
