Victory Taekwondo hosts regional competition at Secunda

Fighters from clubs all over the country competed in the competition that also showcased some of the country’s top Taekwondo athletes

SECUNDA – The Victory Taekwondo Club’s fighters clinched several medals at a Regional competition hosted by this club in the Lillian Ngoyi Centre at Secunda on 13 April.

Fighters from clubs all over the country competed in the competition that also showcased some of the country’s top Taekwondo athletes.

The 11 fighters from the eMbalenhle branch of the Victory Taekwondo Club reaped three gold medals, five silver medals and seven bronze medals.

The Secunda branch’s 47 fighters who entered combinedly, won 40 gold medals, 40 silver medals and 32 bronze medals.

The locals who obtained first places are Katlego Mofokeng (form), Ntokozo Mahlabgu (form and combat), Dezané van Heerden (sparing), Stompie van Heerden (form and combat), Ethan Wesso (form), Mark de Goede (weapon), Riley-Jhon Black (sparing), and Ruben Jacobs (form, weapon, sparing and combat).

Others winners are Anika Willemse (form, weapon, sparring and combat), Logan Potgieter (form), Juandré Maritz (form), Jeaden Mulakanchira (form), Stefan de Kock (sparing and combat), Thabiso Mokoena (weapon), Ndzalama Maomezulu (weapon and sparing), Wihan Wolmarans (form and combat), Conner Coetsee (form and weapon).

Musa Mabaso (sparing and combat), Sasha-Lee Vorster, Amu Mabaso, Kai van Niekerk and Janke-Mari Shahia also excelled.
