Local teams survive away games in SAB Soccer League Gert Sibande Stream B

Log leaders, Manzana FC from Badplaas, seem to be finally hitting their slump as they have failed to get maximum points in the two past week. The leaders had to settle for a point after they drew 0-0 against Breyten Homesweepers, who are in second place.

Local teams once again had to play away-matches as the SAB Soccer League Gert Sibande Stream B resumed on the weekend of 30 March at various stadiums around the region.

The locals seem to be feeling the effects of the season as it approaches its last leg and only two of the four teams registered maximum points.

VOC United continued with their winning ways and triumphed against Typhoon FC at the Mayflower Stadium. The match was indeed a battle, with VOC putting three goals against Typhoon’s two.

The Sun City Gunners participated in the match of the weekend against Flymingo United at the Kantombazana Stadium in Mkhondo.

Even though their opponents had the homeground advantage, this did not deter the local outfit as they defeated the team from Piet Retief with 2-1.

However, another Piet Retief side handed another local team a loss, after PR Barcelona beat Ermelo United 4-2.

The local team is stuck at the bottom of the table on 10 points.

Mafia FC also succumbed to a loss, losing 2-0 to Losta Stars in Lothair.
