Wayne Thornhill wins regatta

Bridge master cancel races because of strong winds

TRICHARDT – Sailors of the Highveld Sailing Club competed on Saturday, 16 February at Trichardtsfontein Dam in the first regatta of the 2019 summer series.

Wayne Thornhill walked away as the winner.

The regatta was planned to continue on Sunday, 17 February, but due to of strong gusty winds, the organisers decided to cancel Sunday’s races.

A total of 15 boats competed in five races.

Gavin Tintinger finished second and Eugene Thornhill finished third while Craig van Deventer was the winner in the junior category and finished sixth overall.
