Secunda athletes grip and rip for 24 hours to raise money for animal welfare

One Rand was donated for each rep the participants completed.

SECUNDA – Grip & Rip Crossfit held a 24-hour workout session to raise money for Hope for Paws on Saturday, 16 February.

One Rand was donated for each rep the participants completed.

The workout began at 8am on Saturday and ended at 8am on Sunday, 17 February.

Mr Kyle Howard, an instructor, said the aim of the day was to promote Crossfit and general health while also raising money for a worthy cause.

Hope for Paws is an animal welfare organisation in the Secunda area.

Ms Alison Cronjé, the founder of Hope for Paws, said on Monday that R8 400 was raised for their charity.

“This is phenomenal. It exceeded all expectations. We will use the money for vet bills and towards helping other rescues,” said Ms Cronjé.
