Second half of the SAB Soccer League Gert Sibande Steam B resumes

The league resumed with sad news coming from Piet Retief and that of the PR Barcelona team being involved in a car accident on Saturday morning, which left the coach in a critical condition and players sustaining various injuries.

The SAB Soccer League in the Gert Sibande Stream B resumed at various stadiums around the district the past weekend, with teams ready to tackle the second half of the season.

The Mpumalanga Eagles Football Club has changed base from Camden to Davel, leaving only four teams in Ermelo.

The Ermelo contingent were looking to bounce back after a dismal start in the season with only VOC United FC on the top half of the table.

Log leaders Manzana FC continued what has been an extraordinary season, thrashing Mafia FC 4-3 in what was a cracker of a match.

The Badplaas side remains unbeaten in the league.

VOC United played to a 1-1 draw against the Hammers while Carolina’s Passion FC defeated Sun City Gunners 1-0.

Breyten Home Sweepers also managed a 1-0 win against the XI Experience team.

Mpumalanga Eagles and Somhlolo FC shared the spoils in what was a goal fest. The match ended 3-3.

Blackstone FC beat Breyten United 2-0 and Ermelo United are on a downward spiral, succumbing to a 7-0 drubbing at the hands of Shooters FC.

The match between Flymingo FC and PR Barcelona did not take place after the Piet Retief team was involved in a car accident on Saturday morning, 12 January.

According to reports, the players of PR Barcelona sustained various injuries and the coach is in a critical condition.

After the weekend Manzana FC remains at the top while Ermelo United languishes at the bottom of the table.
