eMBALENHLE – Ms Cherity Mthembu is a semi finalist in the Miss Plus Size is Me South Africa beauty pageant.
The Plus Size is Me was designed to accommodate plus size single women between the ages of 20 and 40 in the country.
Contestants are empowered and encouraged to participate in various charitable activities which have been lined up for them.
Ms Mthembu from eMbalenhle is one of two women who are representing Mpumalanga.
She said her agent, Ms Gugu Guzana Zulu, informed her about the beauty pageant and encouraged her to enter.
Ms Mthembu works as a receptionist and is currently studying business management.
When asked what she is aiming to achieve by entering the beauty pageant, she said: “I want to inspire other plus size young women to be confident and have goals in life.”
She further mentioned that she feels confident that she will bring back the crown.
The finals will be held on 10 March and for her to win, people should vote by sending her name and surname to 35959 via an SMS.
