Cronjé claims victory in IPS-competition

Altogether 52 players competed despite the cold in this format at the Standerton Country Club as well as a yellow ball-format where teams took on one another.

Francois Cronjé claimed the first position with 44 points in the IPS-competition in the New Denmark sponsored competition on 21 May.

In the IPS-competition Attie Mouton was the runner-up with 41 points, Fanie Botha close on his heels with 40 points and Theuns Adendorff ended in the fourth place with 39 points.

The winners of the challenging yellow ball competition were Gert du Preez, Patrizia Lombard, Johann van Rensburg and Wessel Wessels.

It also resulted in fines imposed on Lourie Nel, Phillip van Wyk, Koos van Wyk, Wim van Niekerk and Quina Martin.

No formal event will be held on 28 May, but golfers can look forward to a knock-out competition.
