Golf academy opens

Municipality and Sasol support new golf academy.

SECUNDA – The Elite Performance Academy (EPA) recently opened a new golf academy in the Govan Mbeki municipal area.

According to Mr Bongani Mtsweni, head coach at EPA, this academy is committed to the development of the community through sport as well as life coaching.

The academy will be presenting golf lessons to the community in the Govan Mbeki municipal area from Mondays to Fridays from 2.30pm until 4pm at Graceland Country Club.

Mr Mtsweni on behalf of EPA thanked the sponsors that include Graceland Casino, Hotel and Resort, Sasol and Govan Mbeki Municipality.

“The support of the sponsors made the dreams of our youth come true with this venture,” said Mr Mtsweni.

Mr Yakhani Sondlo, the representative of sports, recreation, art and culture and facility officer of Govan Mbeki Municipality, said: “As Govan Mbeki Municipality, we are passionate about sportx development and we support the call of uniting the public sector and private sector at sports development level.

“Kinross Golf Club is committed to Mr Mtsweni’s golf development as a token of support.”

Mr Heidnrich Britz, golf director of Graceland Casino and Country Club, said: “The club is committed to sports development, especially golf, and has rendered its facilities open to EPA to encourage the training and development of the next generation golfers.

“We offer EPA inclusive unlimited use of the practice facilities for example the driving range and short game facilities, free membership to the top student as identified by Mr Mtsweni and subsidised rounds of golf.”
