Laerskool Trichardt’s Grade R learners explore different careers
Laerskool Trichardt Grade R learners had a career week where they got to learn about different careers and how persons in these industries operate on a daily basis.
As part of career week, Laerskool Trichardt Grade R learners recently had the opportunity to explore what our everyday heroes and those in the catering industry are doing.
Their career week began with a visit from emergency services, including Mavcorp High-Risk Response, Netcare 911, police and the K9 unit.
Little ones got to see what equipment paramedics use when attending to patients and could also explore the inside of an ambulance and see all its gear.
The men in blue stole the show and the little ones were delighted to see Captain Albie Alberts and his K9 companion, Shadow, in action.
Shadow showed the little ones how he could identify suspicious objects with his sharp sense of smell and training.
The learners visited Dr Darko Vet Hospital for a tour of the premises. They saw the different departments, from bathing and grooming, and X-rays, to where animals are prepped for surgery and the recovery room.
Learners ended their career week on a sweet note. Each little one decorated their own cupcakes, supplied by the Genade Shoppie.
