Two foreigners were arrested for possession of counterfeit cigarettes and expired consumables on March 7.
The goods that surpassed their expiry dates included fizzy drinks, pain killers and groceries.
According to Constable Busi Mthethwa, police received a tip-off about the delivery of the above items to a shop at Extension 7, eMbalenhle.
Secunda police responded to the tip-off. A truck loaded with counterfeit goods and expired items was found.
The police arrested the suspects on the scene and confiscated all the exhibits.
Mthethwa said both suspects were charged with the possession of counterfeit goods and will appear in court pending an investigation.
