Family identifies decapitated man in Bethal

The police made contact with the family.

A family identified their relative’s body on March 7 after police sent out a media release requesting any information about the man’s identity.

The body was found on the Bethal/Kriel road near Witrand Farm on January 9. His decapitated head was next to his body.

According to Sergeant Thomas Mogadime, the spokesperson of the Bethal Police, a complaint was received about a body found near a bridge, wearing blue trousers, a colourful T-shirt, and a grey and black jersey,

Bethal Emergency Service, Bethal Forensic Pathology, the Secunda local criminal record centre and Warrant Officer Vuyokazi Small responded to the scene.

Forensic pathologist Nomasonto Nkumane removed the body from the scene and took it to Bethal Forensic Pathology.

The police are investigating the crime.
